Rashani Réa · Artist, writer, land steward
Art that listens.
A land that holds.
From layered collages to books of poems, from the work of grieving to the living sanctuary of Kipukamaluhia—Rashani's life moves between making, listening, and tending.

Rashani's bibliography includes her own writing, art with the words of other poets and teachers, and journals designed to be lived with. These are four different entrances into her work.

An
inextinguishable
flame.
Rashani's relationship with Joanna Macy is part of her artistic and contemplative story. In a journal dedicated to Macy and the Great Turning, her collages accompany words and reflections on care for the world.
The project holds an especially personal place in her wider archive of tributes to the people who helped shape her work.

06 / RASHANI'S STORY
Art, activism
& a pathless life.
Rashani began writing poetry and studying brush painting at eight. Her path has included social and ecological activism, music, contemplative practice, creative collaborations, and decades of bringing people together.
Her sanctuary and her artwork aren't separate occupations; both reflect a sustained relationship with beauty, impermanence and the world around her.
